1 Leave a comment on paragraph 1 0 The International Union of Family Organization’s Scientific Commission, headed by Pierre de Bie of Belgium, was founded this year, with NCFR giving it major financial support.

2 Leave a comment on paragraph 2 0 Vladimir de Lissavoy was chair of the NCFR committee to explore new areas in which family life education could express itself, such as in prisons and unwed mother’s homes. The committee encouraged regional groups to promote such efforts.

3 Leave a comment on paragraph 3 0 A Constitution Revision Committee was headed by James Walters.

4 Leave a comment on paragraph 4 0 A Family Life Liaison Committee was formed, uniting the NCFR, the American Association of Marriage Counselors, and the Groves Conference with the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) as an ongoing group involved with inservice training for medical doctors who wished to serve their clients more professionally in the area of family relations. The work of this committee stimulated medical schools to enlarge and improve their family life education curricula. NCFR representatives to the committee were Ivan Nye and William Smith. Significantly, four NCFR members were speakers at the Annual Conference of ACOG, which chose at its theme “The Obstetrician–Gynecologist and the Family.” Clark Vincent spoke on the adolescent, David Mace spoke on marriage; Marvin Sussman spoke on “The Family of 1965,” and Ethel Nash spoke on marriage counseling.
