Jay Mancini

Dr. Mancini has extensive research and writing experience in several areas including family and community, military families, family stress and family strengths, and intergenerational relationships. He has published in numerous journals including Family Relations, Journal of Marriage and Family, Journal of Community Practice, and the Journal of Applied Gerontology. Dr. Mancini is a contributing author and editor to a variety of handbooks and other family-related resources. Dr. Mancini’s grant and contract activities include more than 40 projects, many funded by the Department of Defense, Department of the Army, and the Department of Agriculture. He was named an NCFR Fellow in 2002 and a Fellow of the World Demographic Association in 2007. Dr. Mancini was has also been recognized for his scholarship, leadership, and teaching by Virginia Tech, Kansas State University, University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and the U.S. Department of Agriculture. In 2013, Dr. Mancini was named as the first recipient of the Ambiguous Loss Visiting Scholar, Department of Family Social Science, University of Minnesota.
