Other Activities in 2004–05

1 Leave a comment on paragraph 1 0 After over 10 years as a UN NGO, NCFR was given consultative status by the UN Economic and Social Council, making NCFR part of a 2,700-organization network worldwide and giving NCFR ability to offer assistance to the work of the council. They would work with the Commission on Social Development, the Committee on the Status of Women, and the Committee on Population & Development. NCFR was also officially registered with the U.S. Government as an NGO nonprofit organization.

2 Leave a comment on paragraph 2 0 Fifty-five newly certified family life educators were accepted and eight universities were added to the approved academic program list. A new advisory committee was initiated with Kevin Allemagne, Karen Myers-Bowman, Rebecca Adams, and Carol Rubino as members.

3 Leave a comment on paragraph 3 0 Margaret Feldman was honored by the Southwest Assembly of Washington, DC—the area in which she had lived since 1984—for her work on the history of that area and her dedicated service to betterment of that community. A parade and special program were held in her honor.
