1994: Hillary Rodham Clinton receives NCFR’s Distinguished Service to Families award

Did you know that in 1994, Harriette McAdoo’s term as NCFR president, First Lady Hillary Clinton was awarded NCFR’s “Distinguished Service to Families” award? Margaret Feldman and Virginia Heffernon presented the award to her at the White House. Virginia, an NCFR member on the WA Public Policy Committee, worked at the White House in the mail room during the Clinton administration. It was a special award to honor Hillary Clinton’s work at the United Nations Fourth World Conference on Women and her concerns for poor women in families.
