¶ 1 Leave a comment on paragraph 1 0 The Journal of Marriage and Family Editor was Alexis Walker, and the Family Relations Editor was Joyce Arditti. They sponsored a workshop at the Annual Conference on how to write good articles for the journals and other publications.
¶ 2 Leave a comment on paragraph 2 0 Discussions with Blackwell Publishing ensued regarding the transformation of journal publishing by the electronic availability of content and increased usage thus affecting hard-copy sales. Blackwell did report that, because of bundling the Journal of Marriage and Family and Family Relations, they would exceed the expected income.
¶ 3 Leave a comment on paragraph 3 0 Three new policy briefs were published and distributed: (1)“Social Security Reform,” (2) “Family Preparedness,” and (3) “Work/Life Balance.”
¶ 4 Leave a comment on paragraph 4 0 A fact sheet on “Family Trauma” was published 2 weeks after Hurricane Katrina to help people deal with this tragic event.
¶ 5 Leave a comment on paragraph 5 0 A proposal submitted to the Board by Robert Milardo for a new journal, The Journal of Family Theory & Review, was turned down by the Board of Directors until other items were dealt with.
¶ 6 Leave a comment on paragraph 6 0 An updated edition of Graduate and Undergraduate Study in Marriage and Family (2005–2007): A Guide to Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Doctoral Programs in the United States and Canada, edited by Jason Hans, was published.
